IND405

The course explores the life of street children in Yogyakarta based on recorded interviews with street children, their caretakers, and representatives of the local community. The course is based on authentic audio recordings in bahasa Indonesia, and complemented by texts from the contemporary Indonesian media. It consists of 29 units that are based on either written or a spoken "texts" and supplemented with a variety of exercises.

Emphasis is on the development of advanced listening skills in both formal and colloquial Indonesian, and the development of reading and writing skills in formal Indonesian (bahasa Indonesia baku)
